AI Agents · WebMCP

Works With Your AI Assistant

stormwaterplanning.us supports WebMCP, so AI assistants in your browser can look up courses, compare roles, price out seats, and set up your checkout, without guessing from the page.

What Is WebMCP?

WebMCP is an emerging web standard that lets a website tell AI agents running in your browser exactly which actions it supports. Instead of an assistant reading and clicking through pages on its own, it calls the site's published tools directly and gets accurate, structured answers. You can read more in Chrome's WebMCP documentation.

What an AI Agent Can Do Here

ToolWhat it does
list_coursesLists every course with length, price per seat, languages, who it's for, the standards it's aligned with, and how long the certificate is valid.
get_courseReturns the full details for one course, plus related guides and the FAQ answers about it.
recommend_courseRecommends the right course from what a person does on the job (inspects construction sites, installs or maintains BMPs, keeps on-site stormwater records, writes or revises SWPPP documents and designs BMPs), the same logic as our course guide. It also flags state credentials, like California QSP/QSD, that these courses don't confer.
list_resourcesLists our guides, standards summaries, and policies, with the date each was last reviewed or updated.
answer_faqFinds the published FAQ answers that match a question and quotes them word for word with a link, or says it doesn't know.
get_credential_policyExplains exactly what our certificate is and isn't, so an assistant doesn't overstate it.
get_price_quoteCalculates the total for any number of seats, including the automatic bulk seat discount.
search_site_contentSearches our FAQ answers, course curriculum, and policies.
get_certificate_verification_infoExplains how an employer can verify a certificate and links to the verification tool.
lookup_state_permitReturns a state's permitting authority, permit link, and inspector training requirement from our state table, or says “unknown” for states we haven't summarized.
start_checkoutOpens checkout with the course and seat count already selected. This is the only tool that does anything besides look things up, and it can't pay.

What Always Stays With You

  • Payment: an AI agent can open checkout, but it can't pay. You enter your own card details and click Pay yourself.
  • Review: when an assistant sets up your checkout, the page shows a note asking you to confirm the course and seat count before paying.
  • Your data: the tools only read public course information. They don't collect or store any personal information.

How to Try It

Use a browser or AI assistant that supports WebMCP, open stormwaterplanning.us, and ask something like "Which SWPPP course does my site superintendent need?" or "What would 12 seats of the QSP course cost?". If your browser doesn't support WebMCP yet, the site works exactly as usual.

Other Resources for AI Systems

We also publish a plain-text site summary at llms.txt, a full content version at llms-full.txt, a read-only content API described in openapi.json, and a WebMCP manifest that lists every tool above (except checkout) with its exact inputs and outputs. The same data is available as plain JSON files for courses, guides, FAQ answers, and our credential policy.

WebMCP is an emerging standard and browser support is still rolling out. AI assistants can make mistakes, so always confirm course requirements with your employer and the state stormwater permit requirements that apply to your work.
